My name is Chioma Iwekpeazu, co-founder of Afrikakonnect. AfrikaKonnect is a platform that serves as a gateway to various opportunities for individuals in Africa and beyond, specifically aiming to bring aspiring immigrants and newcomers to Canada together in a space where they can share ideas and experiences about Canada. Our platform aims to provide a wide range of resources to people looking to come to Canada as well as to new immigrants already in Canada. We offer resources related to jobs and accommodations to facilitate a smoother landing for newcomers.
Through our platform’s free guides, podcasts, and resources, Afrikakonnect assists individuals in achieving financial stability. Additionally, we provide opportunities for established successful Africans to mentor newcomers and guide them on their path to success. We also encourage virtual interaction and connection among Africans and promote African businesses for those interested in entrepreneurship.
As an immigrant myself, I understand the challenges that aspiring newcomers and newcomers face both in and out of Canada. This is why we created Afrikakonnect – to give back to our community and alleviate many of these problems. Our vision is to create a safe and seamless landing experience for newcomers, enabling them to become self-sufficient as quickly as possible.

Afrikakonnect is a platform where African immigrants and beyond can get the comprehensive support they need to make settling into Canada seamless. Afrikakonnect is dedicated to empowering immigrants in their pursuit of success in Canada by offering extensive range of resources, including interactive guides, expert advice, and practical tools, covering essential areas such as employment, housing, education, healthcare, and cultural adaptation.
Afrikakonnect will serve as a guide to newcomers through virtual networking, discussion forums and mentorship programs, creating opportunities for immigrants to connect, share experiences and build meaningful relationships.
As an immigrant, I faced some challenges when I relocated to Canada, and this was because there were limited resources out there that I could relate to. This was one of the major reasons why Afrikakonnect is here. Our vision is to create a safe and seamless landing experience for all newcomers. Afrikakonnect will lay the foundation for newcomers’ successful integration into Canadian society.
